Elizabeth Birgitte Juliane Wilhelmina (Nielsen) Anderson was born October 7, 1872 in Tornby, Denmark. She was the daughter of Skipper Jacob Nielsen of Nyborg and Jacobe Norgaard. Her mother died when she was about 10 years old and she lived with an aunt.

She married Chris (Anders Kristian Andersen) Anderson on December 31, 1895 in St.Catherine's Kirke, Hjoring, Denmark.

They migrated to Brookings, South Dakota on April 26, 1897 and then to Tacoma, Washington in 1907.

Their children: Jacob Peter, Adolph, George, Lila (Anderson) Oneil, Henry, Emil, Elsie (died in infancy), Arthur (died in infancy), Elizabeth (Anderson) Covin, Florence(Anderson) Burgh, Ernest and Ada (Anderson) Lewis.

Elizabeth gardened and raised her children on a farm without benefit of electricty and running water for many years. She made her own butter, cheese, bread and in other ways cared for all of them.

She died January 26, 1950 and is buried at the New Tacoma Cemetery, Tacoma, Washington
