He married Elizabeth Birgitte Juliane Wilhelmina Nielsen on December 31, 1895 in St.Catherine's Kirke, Hjoring, Denmark.
They migrated to Brookings, South Dakota on April 26, 1897 and then to Tacoma, Washington in 1907.
Their children: Jacob Peter, Adolph, George, Lila (Anderson) Oneil, Henry, Emil, Elsie (died in infancy), Arthur (died in infancy), Elizabeth (Anderson) Covin, Florence(Anderson) Burgh, Ernest and Ada (Anderson) Lewis.
Chris worked on the original buildings at Fort Lewis and the Lakewood Theater. He was seven times president of the local Carpenter's Union and was active in the IOOF Lodge reaching its highest office.
He died July 5, 1953 and is buried at the New Tacoma Cemetery, Tacoma, Washington.
