He was born April 26, 1934 in Claremore, Oklahoma to John Wesley and Bessie Mae Collins Nichols.
He was a Church of Christ minister for sixty years.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Carpenter Nichols; two sisters, Hazel and Frances; and five brothers, Cecil, Frank, Lewis, Eddie and Eugene Nichols.
He is survived by his wife Mereta Evans; three sons, Joe and Randy Nichols of Hector, and Stanley Nichols of Mooreland, Arkansas; two daughters, Debbie Thibodeaux and Sharon Perrin, both of Russellville; a brother John Nichols of Clarksville; a sister Betty of Russellville; sixteen grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mike Nichols and Brother Clayton Nichols officiating, and burial at Liberty Hill Cemetery at Hunt, Arkansas, under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
