Lewis J. Nichols, son of late John Nichols and Mary Cora Pruett Shelton Nichols, was born February 11, 1920 in Ozark, Arkansas and departed this life February 6, 1989 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 68 years, 11 months, and 25 days.
He is survived by one brother, Frank Nichols, Blanchard, Oklahoma: two half sisters, Betty Nuckolls, Russellville, Arkansas and Hazel Wasmer, West Plains; and five half brothers, Cecil Nichols and Johnny Nichols, Clarksville, Arkansas, Gene Nichols Dover, Arkansas, Harley Nichols, Pottsville, Arkansas and Eddie Nichols, Kansas City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army.
