This photo was taken on Easter Sunday April 22, 1962 at Maineville Baptist Church in Maineville, Ohio. This photo had been sent to her mom's parents in Michigan and they were later returned to them after both Ralph and Alice had passed away. Her mom wrote her name and drew and arrow to point Mary out. She was 2 years old and about to turn 3 in May. Her beautiful mom had on her Easter white dress with navy blue polka dots. Mary had on a baby blue dress with white checks. Her dad is to the right of her. That was the year her mom was trying to ween Mary off of her nook-nook (pacifier) and her mom threw it in the empty garbage can just outside of the garage. When she went in to get her purse and bible to put them in the car Mary climbed into the garbage can and got it, but she could not get out. Her mom came out and saw Mary standing in the garbage can with her nook-nook in her mouth! She was too little to know the can was filled with germs. Her mom got Mary out and bathed her a second time, along with her nook-nook, and dressed her for Easter. Her sister was in the back sitting with friends and cannot be seen.
