Maloy ALLRED is the seventh of nine children born to Jesse ALLRED Sr. and his wife Alsey "Alie' YORK.
Maloy ALLRED age twenty six first married on 20 Apr 1848 to Barbara UNDERWOOD age twenty two. The next year a son Warren H. ALLRED was born on 12 Mar 1849 in Sophia. Apparently they were expecting a second child and Barbara age twenty four died most likely from complications at childbirth on 24 Jan 1851.
Maloy no doubt was devastated and lonely from the untimely death of Barbara. Lucinda SWIFT took Maloy to court in Randolph County naming him as the father of her illegitimate child in December 1853. Maloy had to appear in court in 1854 and finally admitted he was the father of the legitimate child of Lucinda SWIFT. In November of 1854 Maloy made arrangements for a $500 Bastardy Bond to guarantee support of the child.
Maloy needed a wife and mother for young Warren Allred. So Maloy ALLRED now age thirty two with a three year old son married a second time on 10 Aug 1854 to Rachael Lucinda MARLEY age eighteen. Rachael is the daughter of John Martin MARLEY and his second wife Nancy KIVETT.
