KNOX--Emory Herbert Petry, 80, of 208 S. Pearl St., Knox, died at 11:40 p.m. Friday in his home. He had been an invalid for many years. A retired school teacher from Evanston, Ill., he had lived since 1946 in Knox. He was born April 9, 1885, in Preble County, Ohio. He was married June 26, 1913, in Ellsworth, Minn., to Margaret Stanton, who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Stanton of Chicago and Bryan of Lancaster, Pa.; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Dehner of Spokane, Wash.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Lester of Arcadia, Ohio, Dr. Ezra Petry of Kansas City, Kan., Isaiah of Richmond, Ind., and Harvey of New Paris, Ohio, and five sisters, Mrs. Larro Browont of Grand Rapids, Mich., Miss Rosa Petry of Richmond, Ind., Mrs. Mary Foster of Muncie, Mrs. Olive Slick of Madison, Ohio, and Mrs. Inez Funkhouser of Richmond. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Kennedy and Braman Funeral Home, Knox, Rev. Rufus Gerkin, pastor of the First Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday.
