Sister Vincentia Was Daughter of Earliest Pioneers: Second Mass (at St. Wenceslaus Church) on Monday morning was offered for Sister Vincentia, whose death occurred at St. Cloud on March 15th after many years of faithful service as a Sister of the Order of St. Benedict. Very few local people had even heard of her, and fewer still knew her, but she was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Philipp, very first residents of this city, whose foresight and perseverance as early pioneers meant so much to the actual settlement of this community. Sister Vincentia was one of three Philipp sisters who entered the service of the Church. To the last, Sister Vincentia had vivid memories of this community and had a keen interest in the welfare of the parish. For it was the parish to which her parents and three other settlers donated 10 acres in 1856 for church purposes.
From New Prague Times, P.1, April 1, 1943.
At birth she was given the name Mary.
