Robert D. Singer, 80, of Louisville, died Thursday, March 11, 2004, at his residence.

A native of Hardin County, KY, he was a member of of the American Legion and St. Rita Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1984 as a long distance truck driver and was a retired school bus driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford Carroll and Dicie Hinton Singer, five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Singer of Minneapolis, MN, and Ray Singer of Louisville; one daughter, Patricia Hulehan of Greenville, SC; two sisters, Althea Beeler of Louisville and Florence Long of San Antonio, TX; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church in Rineyville, KY, with Rev. Stanley Osborne and Deacon Ernie Singer officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, KY. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
