Gladys Charlene Anderson Jensen of Cedar City, Utah passed away peacefully attended by her loving daughter Jodi and granddaughter Bailey, August 27, 2015.Charlene was born to George Nephi and Gladys Lorraine Anderson on March 30, 1929.
Charlene attended Ogden City Schools graduating from Ogden High School.She attended Weber State College. She married William Dee Jensen in Elko, Nevada, in September 1954. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George Temple on May 8, 1971.
Charlene was a beautiful young woman who was much sought after model in the Ogden community. Charlene worked for Fred M. Nye's clothing store which was perfect for her because of her excellent sense of style, and her love of shopping and beautiful clothes. She was an avid golfer for many years.
Char was a woman who loved unconditionally and was very forgiving. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions. She often said that her favorite position was as secretary in the Primary in the Pleasant View 4th Ward. She was a member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers.
Char and Dee previously resided in Logan, Ogden, Bountiful, Pleasant View where Dee devotedly cared for her for years. Dee and Char moved back to Cedar City in December 2013 to be near their daughter and grandchildren. Dee passed away March 19, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters, Cleo and Beverly and a brother, George.
She is survived by: a son, Blake Jensen of Draper, Utah; her daughter, Jodi of Cedar City; a granddaughter, Bailey (Kirk) Baldwin and her two beloved great-grandchildren, Kloe and Kent; a grandson Nick Burns (Kelsey), all of Cedar City, UT and a sister, Farrell Anderson of Sebastopol, CA. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to Kolob Regional Care Center staff, Alliance Hospice, the doctors, and their medical staffs for their devotion and attention to her.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 4, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. A luncheon will be immediately following the services and will be announced during the service.
