William Dee Jensen departed this mortal life on March 19, 2014 at Dixie Medical Center in St George, UT, of complications of Sarcoma cancer. Dee was born in Ogden to Henry Jensen and Lillian Covington Jensen on October 29, 1931, the youngest of 5 children.

Dee married Charlene Anderson in Ogden in 1955. Their marriage was solemnized in the St George Temple on May 8, 1971. Dee and Char resided in Ogden, Bountiful, Cedar City and Pleasant View.

Dee retired from Mountain Bell Telephone as Southern Utah District Business Manager March 31, 1987. In 1989 he and Charlene moved to Pleasant View where they acquired many special friends and spent time with extended family. Dee and Char returned to Cedar City in December, 2013 to be cared for by his beloved daughter Jodi and her family. Dee was a loving, nurturing husband, father and grandfather. Dee lovingly devoted his life to caring for his beautiful wife Char.

Dee attended Ogden schools graduating from Ogden high in 1950. He attended/graduated Weber State College. He was an ensign officer in the US Navy. He was active in community and civic activities. He served in many capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dee was a talented jewelry maker, artist and woodworker. He built much of the beautiful furniture that graced their homes.

Survivors include wife Charlene Anderson Jensen, son Blake Jensen, Draper, UT; daughter Jodi Jensen and her children Bailey Jensen (Kirk Baldwin and their children Kloe and Kent); Nick Burns (Kelsey Carroll), all of Cedar City, Utah; a brother Ray E. of Wisconsin and a sister Lorraine Beckstead of Ogden, Utah. And his sidekick and beloved dog Max. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was loved and cared for much of the last 4 years by his niece Mary Rae and her husband Gary Swenson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Arthur H. Jensen and a sister Ruth McKinstry and several brother and sister-in-laws.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary, 190 North 300 West, Cedar City. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Ogden City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.

Family would like to express their appreciation to the many health care professionals that assisted Dee in his 5 year battle with Cancer. You made his tough journey easier with kindness, smiles, and hope.
