Seeking a better life, the Simmons family moved to Milwaukee, WI; and established permanent residency.
Matthew was employed by Falks Corporation for 35 years. In his spare time, he loved to go hunting and fishing. Matthew also enjoyed gardening; he grew some of the biggest collard greens you have ever seen!
Matthew loved his family and friends, and if they called, he was there for them any time of day or night. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Matthew Simmons silently closed his eyes on October 18, 2012, at 11:32 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Mr. Hosea Simmons; two daughters, Ms. Gail Simmons, and Mrs. Alfreda Simmons; one sister, Ms. Mavis McMillion; 10 grandchildren, Kwanie, Kwanzan, Kijafa, Dwayne, Ivory, Sandra, Hosea, Jr., Leslie, Temko and Bernice; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Mr. James Lee Williams; special niece, Ms. Bobbie Barksdales of Kosciusko, MS; and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
