Kellie Lee Crall, 45, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 in her home. A daughter of Kenneth Cook and Barbara (Smith) Glasgow, Kellie was born March 7, 1967 in Union Hospital at Dover. Kellie graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1985. She then completed the Machinist Apprenticeship program through Buckeye Career Center and earned her Journeyman Machinist Certification. Until her health no longer permitted her do so, Kellie was employed at Allied Machine & Engineering as a machinist and most recently as Quality Control Inspector. In 2007, Kellie was diagnosed with colon cancer and her prognosis gave her approximately one year to survive. She was determined to battle her illness and through her braveness and perseverance, she would enjoy five and half more years with her family and friends. Kellie never wavered throughout her illness and always had a sense of hope, especially for others who were fighting similar illnesses. She was an avid supporter of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life events and was a participant in the last three relays. Kellie was an accomplished artist and was an excellent gourmet cook. Kellie was the best wife a man could ever ask for and is survived by her loving husband, Joe Crall; her father, Kenneth (Karen) Cook of New Philadelphia; her mother, Barbara (Robert) Glasgow of Herrington, Maine; a step daughter, Gabrielle H. Crall of Bolivar; a brother, Ronald (Elise) Shaffer of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania; a sister, Tracy Shaffer of Budd Lake, New Jersey; a niece and nephew, Brock and Emma Shaffer and many extended family members and dear friends. In keeping with Kellie’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. Inurnment will take place privately at Dover Burial Park. Contributions may be made in Kellie’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406.
