Willard Guy Hicks
Willard Guy Hicks, 90, Tryon, died Friday, July 28, 2006, in Oklahoma City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Tryon First Christian Church. Pastor Ted Gibson will officiate. Interment will be in Tryon Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.
Hicks was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Douglas County, Mo., to Timothy Hicks and Ollie (Proctor) Hicks.
He married Edith Evelyn Liston in Stillwater on March 29, 1940. She died Aug. 6, 1991.
He was a construction laborer and lived in Stillwater and Tryon.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents; one son, James Robert Hicks; two brothers, Robert Hicks and Wayne Hicks; and three sisters, Lillie Hicks, Mary Amrine and Winnie Coyle.
Survivors include one daughter, Norma Brown and husband Jerry of Bethany; one grandchild, Pamela Brown Goold of Edmond; and two great-grandchildren, Jordan Fuller and Evan Goold of Edmond.
Pallbearers will be Merl Hicks, Tim Hicks, Kenneth Hicks, Keith Ward, J.W. Ward and Brad Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Hicks and Jackie Amrine.
