Helen May Hendricks, 98, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Eldon Nursing and Rehab in Eldon, Missouri. She was born April 5, 1921 in Old Bagnell, Missouri the daughter of the late Homer and Anna (Wyrick) Brown. On April 12, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri she was united in marriage to Elmer Ferris Hendricks who preceded her in death on October 22, 1999.

Survivors include,

Sons, William J. Hendricks, Sr. (Wanda) of Holt Summit, MO; Robert D. Hendricks (Tina) of Lovelady, TX

Daughters, Peggy Johnston (Jerry Johnston deceased) of Independence, MO; Brenda Borton (Harry Borton deceased) of Eldon, MO; Patti Newton of Eustis, FL; Barbara Howard (Michael Howard deceased) of Eldon, MO; Caroline Schlup (Frederick) of Gainesville, TX

Siblings, Harold “Dude” Brown (Phyllis) of Rocky Mount, MO; Robert Brown (Sharon) of Kansas; Ona Russell of Farley, MO

Twenty-two Grandchildren; twenty-nine Great Grandchildren, several Great Great Grandchildren, and many many nieces and nephews

Preceding her are, a granddaughter, Melissa Ann Hendricks March 20, 1995, a great granddaughter, Kayla Marie Dummermuth Feb. 8, 2014, six brothers, Roy Brown, Ernie Brown, Carl Brown, Claude Brown, Ronnie Brown, Donnie Brown, and three sisters, Oma Brown, Hazel Whiles and Opal Grimm.

Helen was employed as a cook at Vienna, MO elementary school before moving to Tuscumbia, She was also employed at Brockman’s Novelty Shop in Tuscumbia and at Miller County Nursing home. Later she took a job at JB Deere’s Novelty Shop in Eldon, MO.

Helen loved to go blackberry and gooseberry picking, cooking and especially making fried chicken and delicious chocolate pies and just spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM with Pastor David Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Gott Cemetery in Ulman, MO.

Memorials in her name are suggested to Gott Cemetery.
