James R. Brown, 45, of 304 North Tenth in Kansas City, Kansas, passed away August 28th. Mr. and Mrs. Brown were in their car that crashed into a bridge on U.S. 50 about 20 miles southeast of Jefferson City, near Linn. He died from his injuries and Mrs. Brown was hospitalized with serious injuries. Mr. Brown was born in Tuscumbia, Missouri, and had lived in Kansas City most of his life He was a foreman for the Colgate-Palmolive Company. He was marine veteran of World War II.

Mr. Brown was survived by his wife, Mrs. Ellen E. Brown, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Annie Brown, of 6731 Verde Drive in Kansas City, Kansas; seven brothers, Ernest Brown of 7632 Swartz, Claude brown of 2401 North 69th, Donald Brown of 1134 North 34th, Ronald Brown of 2119 North 32nd and Robert Brown of 6731 Verde Drive, all of Kansas City, Kansas, and Harold Brown of 7920 Pennsylvania and Carl Brown of Augusta, Missouri; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Shifflett of 1501 North 82nd, Mrs. Helen Hendricks of Tuscumbia, Mrs. Opal Grimm of Hillsboro, Missouri, and Mrs. Hazel Wilds of Campbell, California.

Friends called on Monday evening at the Butler Chapel in Kansas City, Kansas. Services were held on Tuesday morning at the Butler Chapel. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
