Mrs. Jeremiah Arnold passed away to her heavenly reward March 1, at 3 p. m. This estimable old lady was one of the pioneers of our town, she was born in the village of Cioss Matina, County Mayo, Ireland Jan. 6, 1824. After some years she sailed from the land of her birth to America and landed in Quebec, Canada, where she resided for four years, after which she came to Mt. Savage, where she lived until her death. Mrs. Arnold was married twice, her first husband being Mr. John Gallagher, by whom she had three children, as follows: Mr. Patrick Gallagher and Mrs. Michael Kane and Mr. Edward Gallagher, all of whom are dead. Later on in life she married Mr. Jeremiah Arnold, by whom she had born two children: Mr. William Arnold, of Cumberland, and Mr. Thos. Arnold, of this place. Mrs. Arnold lived for a great number of years on the farm known as the Blake farm, and at one time owned by the late Arthur Welds. The funeral will take place Tuesday morning from St. Patrick's Church, of which the deceased has always been a faithful member. The relatives have the sympathy of the entire village.
