Mrs. Mary Hart, 90, of 1131 Hammond street, wife of James R. Hart, died Saturday at 5:20 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard Van Gorp of 406 Minnesota street, following a long illness.
She was born September 11, 1857, at Dunreath, Iowa, the daughter of William and Caroline Meyers. She was married to James R. Hart November 11, 1877 [sic], at Dunreath. They resided in Pella until coming to Ottumwa seven years ago. She was a member of the home department of the Wesley Methodist church.
Surviving are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Luella Koons of Marcola, Ore., Mrs. Margaret McGuire of Secptre [sic], Sask, Canada, Mrs. Jennie Moore of Des Moines and Mrs. Marie Van Gorp of Ottumwa, 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Carroll Reece funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Levi P. Goodwin of the Wesley Methodist church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jake Orman, Archie Hunt, George Bortz, Orville Howard, Gerald Howard and Verne Miller.
