Connie Williams Greene, 60, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at the Medical College of Virginia after a courageous 18-year battle with cancer.
Connie was a lifelong member of Union Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, member of the Sanctuary Choir, a 40-year member of the Gospelettes Trio and Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Achilles Chapter.
She will be remembered for all the delicious meals that she prepared while chairman of the Hospitality Committee. Connie had many talents and was known for her catering ability and elaborate wedding cakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Allene Williams, and nephew, Gregory Thomas-Randolph Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband of 42 years, Harold Wayne Greene; two sons, Jason Wayne Greene and wife, Hope, and Matthew Shawn Greene and wife, Farrah; one brother, Thomas R. Williams and wife, JoAnn; two sisters, Cheryl Lumpkin and husband, Joe, and Carmen Hogge and husband, Steve; four grandchildren who were the joys of her life, Makayla Greene, Colton Greene, Christian Greene and Camden Greene; best friend, Beulah Colon; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at Union Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
In Connie's memory, memorial contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church, Piano Fund, 9254 Guinea Road, Hayes, VA 23072.
Connie loved her church and church family with all her heart, but most importantly loved the Lord. She will be sorely missed by everyone.
