Daughter of a wealthy cloth manufacturer, she and Judge J.B.C. Lucas married after meeting at the Honfleur Law School while still residing in France. The older Lucas family looked down upon her but she was quite the beauty. Like many early St. Louis burials, her remains were reportedly transferred to the Lucas plot when Calvary Cemetery was first founded and opened in 1852.
