Henry E. Berres, 91, of 33.1 Saratoga Ave., died Saturday at 9:.0 p.m. at Mercy Hospital, following an extended illness.

He was born Oct. 21, 1866, in Town of West Bend. Washington County, and came to Oshkosh 40 years ago. He was married in Marathon City, Wis., on July 5, 1893, to Miss Ottila Hornung. who preceded him in death in 1913.

Mr. Berres taught, school for a number of years, and then was employed as a railway mail clerk for 25 years before his retirement in 1932.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fourth Degree of Knights of Columbus and Catholic. Order of Foresters.

Surviving are one brother, Theodore Berres, Milwaukee; one sister, Mrs. Anna Dormacker, West Bend; and a number of nieces and! nephews. One son, Cletus, died in 1956.

Services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home and 10 a m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with interment in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Tuesday at 3 p.m. until the hour of services. The rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8:15 at which time Knights of Columbus will gather.
