Raymond was the oldest of four children born to Harry Edgar and Dagmar (Mortenson) Lees. He married Myrtle M. Behrens in 1925 and they had one daughter: Jeanne.

Raymond Edgar Lees, lifetime Pueblo resident, and prominent Pueblo photographer for many years, late of 1014 W. Evans, passed away St. Mary-Corwin Hospital following lengthy illness. Mr. Lees was employed as a photographer at the Pueblo Star Journal and Chieftain for many years. In 1951 he opened the Ray Lees Studio, which he continued in death by his brother, Clifford Lees, who passed away in 1941. Member First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Murtle M. Lees of the family home, and one daughter, Mrs. Jeanne E. Cochran, Pueblo. Two sisters, Mrs. Irene Edwards, Englewood, Colo., and Mrs. Vivian Turman, Redding Calif., also survive as do three grandchildren, Kevin, David and Douglas Cochran, all of Pueblo, and two nephews, Dr. Dalva E. Hedlund, Ithaca, N.Y., and Hobart M. Edwards, Englewood, Colo., also survive. Services 10 a.m. Tuesday, T. G. McCarthy Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Beattle, pastor, First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment, Mountain View.
