My uncle George, along with his younger brother James (Jim) were born in Texas. I do not know the city. They were orphaned rather early and then raised by their aunt. George was married to Florence Hilton. George was a fire fighter for 32 years and received some kind of award or recognition of some kind. He drove a really big ladder truck. Our family saw him on one of the LA freeways driving the truck and literally whipping through traffic with sirens and red lights with the rear driver on the ladder trying to keep up. He was a wonderful person willing to help anyone who needed it. He and my father were good friends as well as brothers-in-law and he used to tease me a lot. I used to go fishing with my dad, George, and my grandpa William.
