Bea was a dedicated registered nurse who had worked in Texas, Montana and California. After the death of her first husband, Jacob Reiswig, she married Fred Wellington Steeves on Jan. 4, 1972. Fred lived to see 102 years--19 of which were spent with Bea. She was our family genealogist and corresponded with many cousins to compile a manuscript entitled "Willhelm Family Record and Hurley Family Record." While several of us have a copy, the original document and other materials of Aunt Bea's years of research was lost. Do you know who might have it?

Beatrice's obit in the Napa Valley Register newspaper on Wednesday, January 18, 1995, reads:

St. Helena -- Beatrice W. Steeves, who worked as a nurse, died Tuesday at a convalescent hospital. She was 87.

Mrs. Steeves, a native of Santa Ana, Texas, is survived by six stepchildren, 14 stepgrandchildren and 25 stepgreat-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Helena Cemetery with Elders Arlin Steffes and Paul Kemper officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel, St. Helena.

Bea's parents' names are linked below. She was the youngest of seven children. Her beloved brothers and sisters were: Glenn 1890-1982, Arch Willhelm, Fred Willhelm, May Willhelm Alexander, Olive Willhelm, and Art Willhelm.

NOTE: The photo of Edgar & Rebecca Willhelm's children was taken about 1911. Little Bea is standing in front between her big brothers. Click on the photo to see it enlarged. Thanks to Betty Foree for sharing this photo, and to John for snapping the cemetery photos.
