Rebecca, also known as "Lena," married William Edgar Willhelm on December 8, 1889 at her home in Katemcy, Texas. They lived near his parents in Franklin County, Arkansas and later in Texas. In September 1900 Rebecca sought shelter in a barn behind hay bales with her young children as the great Galveston Hurricane flooded the town.
