Carnelon Vernon Terry, Jr. of Clinton, TN went Home to be with our Lord on July 24, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born near Robbins in Scott County, TN, on March 15, 1930 to Carnelon C. and Martha Smith Terry, he attended Huntsville High School where he met and later married Phyllis Harness Terry.

He retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems in 1992 after 40 years at Y-12. Mr.

Terry also served in the United States Army.

Carnelon was a Christian who attended Midway Baptist Church and loved to sing.

He was a member of the Smoky Mountain Antique Club, the Clinton Antique Car Club and the Model "A" Air Compressor Club.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister, Annis Laity, brothers, Arvalee, William, Roscoe, Floyd and Paul Terry, and his own twin daughters.

He is survived by his "darling wife" of 64 ½ years, five daughters, Teresa Terry Pate, Carol Asbury (George) of Lafollette, TN, Elaine Mills (Phillip) of Portsmouth, VA, Annette Terry Eaves, Darlene Stout (Roy), 14 grand children and 9 great grandchildren, siblings Hazel Woods of Kingston, TN, Lillie Glavich of Dade City, FL, John B. Terry of Paintrock, TN, and a host of other special friends and family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2015, 5-7 pm at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, TN. Funeral Service will start at 7 pm.

Interment Procession for a Military Rites burial will meet at the funeral home on Thursday, July 30th at 10:00 am. All are welcome. He will be laid to rest at Botts Cemetery, Anadell United Baptist Church in Scott County.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Amedisys Hospice Volunteer Services (865) 689-7123. They provide services and therapy to the terminally ill.
