Funeral services for Dr. Edwin W. Crum, Waverly physician, who dies in St. Petersburgm Fla., will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Waverly Christian Church. Interment will be made in Waverly cemetery.
The body will arrive in Springfield on Sunday and be taken to the Neece Funeral Home in Waverly. The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Monday.

Dr. Edwin Wallace Crum was born March 21, 1876, on the Crum homestead west of Modesto, a son of the late Andrew Jackson and Ellen Allmon Crum. He passed away suddenly Wednesday afternoon, February 13, in St. Petersburg, Fla., where he and Mrs. Crum were spending the winter.
Dr. Crum, who was 75 years of age, was in his 52nd year of practicing medicine, and had resided in Waverly since 1917, coming here from Palmyra.
Dr. Crum graduated from Barnes Medical College, St. Louis, on April 12, 1900. His first location following his graduation was at Lynnville, where on May 22, 1901, he was married to Miss Ethel Jones, a teacher in the Lynnville school. They then moved to Manchester, where he practiced for two years, and in 1903 they moved to Glasgow, and lived there four years. In 1907 they moved to Palmyra, and remained there until 1917, when they came to Waverly. On June 8, 1950, Dr. Crum was honored by the Morgan County Medical Society at Jacksonville in recognition of his fifty year service as a physician, and he was presented with a gold button and two certificates.
Dr. Crum was a long time member of the Christian church, uniting with the local church upon moving to this city, and at the time of his death held the office of elder, having also ben church clerk for many years, and was teacher of the Men's Bible class. He was also a member of the Illinois State Medical Society; Waverly Lodge No. 118, A. F. & A. M.; Ansar Temple A. A. O. N. M. S., Springfield; the Ansar Temple bank; Springfield Consistory, S. P. R. S., 32nd degree, Co-ordinate Bodies, A. A. S. Rite Valley, Springfield; the Waverly Shrine club, Waverly Lions club and Royal Neighbors. For a number of years he was a member of the Waverly Concert band.
Mr. and Mrs. Crum celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on May 27, 1951.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret McShane, of Arlington, Va.; Mrs. Virginia Malone of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Lilla Duewer of Waverly; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Walk and Mrs. Ida Reed of Palmyra, and Mrs. Golda Snyder of Miami, Fla.; four brothers, Roy Crum of Waverly, Carl Cum of Benld, Glenn Crum of Modesto, Ferris Crum of Oak Park; eight grandchildren, one of whom, Frank Sabo, resided with his grandparents during his childhood; and one great granddaughter.
He was preceded I n death by two sons, Andrew Woodward in 1921 and Edwin Vernon in 1927, and two daughters, Mrs. Helen Sabo in 1943 and Mrs. Katherine Seppi in 1944.
Short funeral services were held in St. Petersburg at the Ralph G. Cooksey funeral home Friday morning, Rev. McNelly, pastor of Mirror Lake Christian church of St. Petersburg, officiating. The body was then sent to Waverly arriving here Sunday afternoon.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Waverly Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. F. Leitze, of Lynnville, a long time friends of the family, with Rev. Robert L. Foster, pastor of the church, assisting.
Interment was in East cemetery.
