Duckie was born on June 25, 1920 in Dreyer, Texas. She was the daughter of Julius A. and Alvina (Noack) Dreyer. She married Victor Pulkrabek on July 27, 1937 in Shiner. Duckie was an avid reader, reading a book a day after she retired to the nursing home. She enjoyed taking care of her flower and vegetable gardens. Victor and Duckie liked to go dancing in their younger years. She also enjoyed playing dominoes, and would play with different groups. Duckie and Victor owned and operated Vic's Place for many years. Duckie attended Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, VFW, American Legion, and Hermann Sons.
She is survived by a daughter; Geraldine Jahn of Yoakum, son-in-law; Alton 'Bonnie' Ehler of Sealy, six grandsons; Rick Jahn (Laurie) of Yoakum, David Jahn (Nicki ) of Yoakum, Ron Ehler (Linda) of St. Louis, Missouri, Donald Ehler of Rosenburg, Douglas Ehler of Needville, Chris Ehler (Debbie) of Houston, eight great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 63 years; daughter; Barbara Ehler, son-in-law; James Jahn, and sister; Doris 'Hatsy' Dreyer Kubecka.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Pulkrabek will be her Grandsons and Great Grandsons.
Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, and will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with the Rosary at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 28 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Shiner, with Deacon Joe Machacek officiating.
