Charles David Yankie
Charles David Yankie, age 75, of Lebanon, Ohio passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at his home.
Charles was born June 28, 1940 in Greenfield, Ohio the son of Walter and Essie (Spriggs) Yankie.
He retired from Lebanon Raceway after approximately 40 years of blacksmith service, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed motorcycles, skeet shooting, gardening, and restoring horse drawn buggies.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Repino) Yankie whom he married August 25, 1978; two daughters, Leah and Lora Yankie of Lebanon; numerous nieces and nephews; four sisters-in-law, Marcella, Shirly, Andrea Yankie of Washington C.H., and Dee Yankie of Drexel Hill, Philadelphia; one brother-in-law, Edward Robinette of Greenfield.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Richard, Walter “Pete”, Bob, Bill, Dean, Willard Earl, and Don Yankie; three sisters, Margaret Sword, Louise Robinette, Evelyn Yankie; and both parents.
Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 27, at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Bill Gaskell officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery with military rites to be provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Monday until the time of service.
