George Byron Sobraro of 71 East Spruce street died this morning at 11 o'clock, aged 49 years. The cause being tuberculosis. Mr. Sobraro has been ailing for three or four years and the death is not at all unexpected.

Mr. Sobraro was born in the Soo and during his early life sailed the lakes in sailing vessels in use at that time, which made the vocation very dangerous and full of hardships. After spending several years in that pursuit, he started farming on the Hay Lake road, where he remained for some time, coming to the Soo two years ago because of ill health. He was prominent in the social circles years ago, having played snare drums in the first band instituted in the Soo. He is quite well known in the city, although not connected in any way with public life. He was unmarried and leaves but two close relatives, brothers Frank who lives on the Hay Lake road and John who resided in the Soo.

The funeral will be held from St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock Saturday morning- Interment will be made at Riverside Cemetery.
