Fred Kalmback, who has been confined to a wheel chair for the past nine years, died at the hospital in Billings on Sunday evening at the age of 34 years. Death was cause by multiple sclerosis, from which he had suffered for the past 14 years.
Fred Kalmback was born in Kulm ND and at the age of four years came to the ranch near Fallon with his parents, where he resided until he became ill. He attended grade school for six years on Fallon Flat and for two years in Fallon. He farmed for several years on his father's ranch, and made his home with his sister, Mrs H B Bredberg and family.
Mr Kalmback has spent the past two and a half years in Billings with his sister, Kathryn. He became seriously ill several days ago, and was in the hospital for five days preceding his death.
Surviving are six sisters, Mrs Del Trimble of Wolf Point, Mrs Andrew Gackle and Mrs Gottfried Gackle of Watkins, Mrs Albert Heck and Mrs Bredberg of Fallon , and Kathryn; and two brothers, Ed and John Kalmback of Fallon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at the Fallon Evangelical church on Wednesday afternoon. Interment was made in the cemetery on Fallon Flat. Pallbearers were A L McCurdy, Martin M Sackman, Fred Sackman, Rudolph Wishaar, Glenn L Buckingham, and G R Taylor.
