For many years, Sarah Gifford took care of her parents, Humphrey and Jane C. Jenney Gifford at their home in Greenwich Township, Huron Co., Ohio. The third child of seven, Sarah never married. In her will, she gave to niece Sarah [Gifford Dye, daughter of William Henry Gifford and Sarah Bond], "my silver spoons" and Bertha [Reese McConnell, daughter of Catherine Gifford and John Reese], "my gold watch." The balance of her estate Sarah left to her sister, Elida Jane Gifford Crowell.
