Arthur was born in Redderkerk, Netherlands on April 19, 1910, the son of the late Henry and Barbara (Den Hood) Kranendonk. He attended Harmony School #5 in the Town of Wilson. On June 27, 1934 he married the late Ruth W. Lemkuil in Hingham. She preceded him in death on October 5, 1992. He started the Oostburg Dairy and delivered milk to virtually every house in the village at that time. Arthur also worked for H.C. Prange Co. in the furniture repair and warehouse for 28 years before retiring in 1976. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg where he served as elder, deacon, custodian, Sunday School Superintendent, Men's Brotherhood and choir member. He was a past member of the Oostburg Kiwanis Club, Pine Haven Men's Chorus, and was on the Board of Directors at Pine Haven Christian Home. He was a Meals On Wheels volunteer, an avid sports spectator, and regularly bowled well into his 90's. Art loved his family dearly, was fond of animals, and enjoyed taking special interest in young people. Art always had a smile on his face and a kind word of encouragement to all who knew him.
Survivors include two daughters, Audrey (Gerald) Otte of Sheboygan, Karen (Roy) Nelson of Mankato, MN; one son, Henry (Jean) Kranendonk of Milwaukee; 12 grandchildren; and13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one grandson, Jeffrey Kranendonk, four sisters and four brothers.
