Fredrick Eugene Brown, one of nine children, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lester W. Brown, June 6, 1872, and died at Fremont, Nebr., March 18, 1947.
The family came to Boone county in 1874 to a farm near St. Edward and moved to Albion in 1892. When a young man he lost an arm in a corn sheller accident.
He was married to Laurel Lillian Jordon, May 12, 1897, who passed away in 1926.
Mr. Brown owned an implement store in the early days and operated the Albion Electric plant which he sold to G. K. and F. A. Pittenger in 1909. He then moved to Sidney and to Fremont in 1913, where he has since resided.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Everett Durkee of California and Mrs. George McGinnis of Nickerson, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. D. Banks at the Bader chapel on Tuesday, March 25. Interment was in Rose Hill, Albion.
