PFC US Army World War II

LAWRENCEVILLE, ILL.- - - World War II Army veteran Paul M. Holmes, 59, Rt. 1, died Monday morning at his home.

A construction worker, he was born June 1, 1926 in Lawrence County to William E. and Mary T. (Young) Holmes. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a son, Steven Holmes, Anaheim, Calif.; eight brothers, Clifford, Robert, David and Garold of Lawrenceville; Edgar of Bridgeport; Donald and Harold of St. Francisville; and Richard of Carlyle; four sisters, Daisy Hodges, Anna Ray, Hazel Holmes and Lula Thompson, all of Lawrenceville.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. CST Wednesday at Emmons-Macey Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. CST today at the funeral home.
