Maude E. Richter, 98, of Gonzales, died Saturday, May 3, 2003. She was born in Williamson County on October 30, 1904 to the late Landon Shaw and Elizabeth Newby Woods Rasor. She was a member of the Full Gospel Church and was a homemaker. She was married to the late Alfred H. Richter Sr.

Survivors include one daughter, Ida M. Crumley of Gonzales; four sons, John H. Richter of Iron Mountain, Alfred H. Richter Jr. of Houston, Simeon (Sim) L. Richter of Elm Mott and J.C. James C. Richter of Victoria; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ellen E. Lockstedt and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Buffington Funeral Home with Rev. David Jackson officiating. Burial followed at the Saturn Cemetery.

Buffington Funeral Home of Gonzales was in charge of arrangements.
