Susan Acree was the daughter of Beverly Dandridge Acree and Susannah Margaret Bowman. She was born in Rutherford or Madison County Tennessee. About 1834, they moved to what is now the Point Community in Union Parish Louisiana.
Susan married Joseph C. Hudson about 1847 and they had two children before his death in 1852. Susan died sometime in the early 1850s.

1) Josephine Hudson (c1848 - early 1850s) was born near the modern community of Point in southeastern Union Parish. She was alive on 24 September 1850, but died in the early 1850s as a young child.
2) John Thomas Hudson (9 Dec 1850 – 6 Oct 1924) married in Union Parish on 13 February 1873 to Susannah Jane Goyne (29 Jan 1851 – 19 Oct 1937), daughter of Henry B. T. Goyne (1822 – Feb 1900) and Mary Ann Murray (c1822-1880s). John and Susan were buried in the Taylor/Liberty Hill Cemetery.
