Susannah Margaret Bowman was born on 2 September 1796 and baptized on 27 November 1796 in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Washington County Maryland. She was the daughter of Revolutionary War soldier Daniel Bowman and his wife, Susannah Margaret Horn.

She married Dandridge Acree on 13 May 1817 in Rutherford County Tennessee. They moved to Madison County Tennessee with her sister in the early 1820s, and then to what is now Union Parish Louisiana about 1834. She died between 1840 and 1844.

1) Sarah Acree (c1818 – after 30 Dec 1844) was alive and living with her family in 1844.

2) Daniel Bowman Acree (c1819 – 30 Oct 1860) married on 25 January 1844 in Union Parish Louisiana to Rachel Farmer (1 June 1820 – 19 Jan 1893), daughter of Mills Farmer (1783 – 1834) and Susannah Wood (1780/1790 – 21 Oct 1843). Rachell Farmer Acree was buried in the Abcent Cemetery.

3) Susan Acree (c1822 – 1850s) married about 1847, probably in Union Parish Louisiana, to Joseph C. Hudson (c1800 – 14 Sept 1852).

4) Mary Jane Acree (2 Mar 1826 – 20 July 1886) married on 2 November 1845 in Union Parish Louisiana to James Madison Turner (). Mary Jane was buried in the Absent Church Cemetery.

5) Sophia Western Acree (c1829 – after 30 Dec 1844) was alive and living with her family in 1844.

6) James M. Acree (c1831 – 15 June 1864) married on 7 May 1855 in Union Parish Louisiana to Margaret A. Wilhite ().

7) Lucinda C. Acree (31 Oct 1833 – 26 July 1902) married in 1859 in Union Parish Louisiana to Stephen R. Crow. Lucinda was buried in the Liberty Cemetery.
