Leona Mae Waddell Wroten , 93, Beloved wife, mother and grandmother was called home to her Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2014, dying peacefully in her sleep.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 72 years, Leo Woodrow Wroten. He met the love of his life (his 'SUG') at a Baytown dance club; they were married in 1942. Leona is also survived by her two sons, Richard Woodrow Wroten and his wife Sharon Elaine Taylor Wroten of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Craig Alan Wroten and his wife Wanda Wooten Wroten of Houston, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Leona was always there to cheer Leo on in his Arabia/Shrine bowling; she was known for her ready smile and quick wit, always the life of the party. An active member of Willow Meadows Baptist Church for 59 years, she was very active in Little League and the WM Civic Association, and she was also a national level bridge player.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Willow Meadows Baptist Church, 4300 W. Bellfort St.

The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway.
