M. T. "Bebo" Waddell, 97, of Baytown was born August 27, 1917, in La Porte and passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, in a local healthcare facility.

He retired from Exxon and then the State of Texas. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and then Cedar Bayou Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Navy WWII veteran and was one of the meteorologists involved in the weather forecasting for the invasion of the Philippines and the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima.

He was also a member of the Exxon Annuitants, the American Society of Professional Engineers, and was a founding member of the Bayshore Rod, Reel, and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and conservationist. He loved to travel with his wife in their RV and they visited every state in the union except Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Alva (Noodie) Waddell of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, M. T. "Bujo", Jr. and Jeri Waddell of Galveston and Dan and Mona Waddell of Deer Park; brother-in-law, Leo Wroten of Houston; grandchildren, David Waddell, Wendy Mattson, Margo Bergman, James Waddell, Jaryd Robinson, and Katie Robinson; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at St. James House, 5800 W. Baker Rd., Baytown, TX 77520 with Dr. Mark E. Broussard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Douglas Mattson, Michael Mattson, Austin Mattson, David Waddell, James Waddell, and Jaryd Robinson. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
