She was a daughter of David and Eleanor Martelia Peery Borders. And a granddaughter of David Peery and Eleanor Harman Peery; and Archibald Borders and Jane Preston Borders. She married Christopher Columbus Botner on June 11, 1868 in Lawrence County, Kentucky. She was the mother of 11 children: Oliver Botner, Reverend Charles Milton Botner, John David Botner, Edgar Heldreth Botner, Martelia Jane Botner Hayes, Ola Borders Botner Thorne, Amanda Victoria Botner, Della Botner Dulaney (Twin), Ella Botner Thompson (Twin), Jacob Dawson "Jake" Botner, and Christopher Columbus Botner Jr.

Her great grandparents were John V. and Catherine Elizabeth Sellards Borders. Catherine's sister was Jenny Sellards Wiley - Jenny Sellards Wiley

AGED WOMAN DIES AT HER HOME NEAR CENTER
Mrs. Mary L. Botner, 72 years old, died yesterday evening at her home in the Center neighborhood. For several years she had been in poor health, being afflicted with chronic bronchitis, which finally caused her death. Her husband, Christopher C. Botner, three sons and two daughters survive. Mrs. Botner had lived in Helt township for many years and was well know in that vicinity.
The funeral will be held at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home, and burial will be in Helt's Prairie cemetery.

Clinton, Indiana - September 20 - Mrs. Mary L. Botner, 72 years old, died yesterday at her home near Center. She is survived by her husband, Christopher C. Botner; three sons and two daughters. The funeral of Mrs. Mary L. Botner was held Wednesday afternoon at her home in the Center neighborhood, Helt township. Burial took place at the Helt's Prairie cemetery.

Deceased was the wife of Christopher C. Botner, who came from Kentucky several years ago. She was afflicted with chronic bronchitis for several years and died at the age of 72 years at her home on the evening of Sept. 19. Besides the husband she is survived by three sons and two daughters.
