Steve Leonard Brooks, 55, of Hendersonville, NC passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at his home after a courageous battle with complications sustained from a motor vehicle accident in 2002.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County. He is the son of Jewel Corn Brooks of Hendersonville and the late Fred Oliver Brooks.
He graduated from Hendersonville High School where he lettered in Football and also graduated from A.B. Tech.
Steve worked at White Knight Industries in Arden, NC as a computer consultant. His hobbies included; watching Nascar, coaching baseball for his children, and spending time with his family and studying the bible prophecies.
He was a member and served as a deacon of Balfour Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife of 29 years, Linda Purvis Brooks; four children, Justin Daniel Brooks of Hendersonville, Christian Gabriel Brooks of Hendersonville, Kelsey Nicole Brooks and Alexis Caitlin Brooks both of the home; a granddaughter, Laila Marie Brooks of Hendersonville; a sister, Joy Brooks of Hendersonville; a niece, Lauren and a nephew, Logan.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Balfour Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Mullins and Rev. Travis Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
The family would like to thank his care-givers who were loyal and loving to the end.
