She was born on September 22, 1922 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Forrest Milford and Lula Grace Walker Barlow. She married Beryl W. Mitchell in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Surviving is a daughter, Patsy King of Galesburg, Illinois and a son, Michael Mitchell of Maquon, Illinois; nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard “Dick” Mitchell and a brother, Dale Barlow.
She attended beautician school and worked in the Maquon area for many years. She also worked for the former P.E.O. Home in Knoxville as a housekeeper. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois. She enjoyed playing the piano and crocheting.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Maquon Cemetery in Maquon, Illinois. Rev. Krey Leesman will officiate. There will be no visitation.
