Helen K. Jung, 95, of Harper died Nov. 28, 2003, at Hilltop Village Care Center in Kerrville.
A vigil and rosary service were held Sunday, Nov. 30, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Kerrville with Deacon Curtis Klein officiating.
A funeral mass was held Monday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Harper. Interment followed at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Harper with Rev. George P. Carlin officiating.
Mrs. Jung was born on March 6, 1908, the daughter of Albrecht Tatsch and Anna Fiedler Tatsch. She married James J. Jung on May 15, 1929, at St. Anthony's and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Jung was a charter member of the St. Ann's Society and a member of the St. Anthony's choir. She and her husband owned and operated their farm.
She is survived by her children: Mary Ann Kneese, Charles and Jo Ann Jung, Geneva and William Baccus; a brother and sister-in-law, Freddy and Anita Tatsch; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous step-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Jung was preceded in death by her son, James A. (Jimmy) Jung; brothers: Arvin, Emil and Chester Tatsch, and sisters-in-law, Nitzie, Norma and Nella Tatsch.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Harper Volunteer Fire Department and EMS or to the charity of choice.
