Mass for Mr. James M. Jung, 86, of Harper, who died Sunday in a Kerrville hospital, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Harper with the Rev. David Maurer, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Harper.
Born March 25, 1905 in Harper, Mr. Jung was raised in the Harper and Fredericksburg area and was actively engaged in farming all his life. He married Helen K. Tatsch on May 25, 1929 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Harper. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Everett Nichols of Kerrville and Geneva and William Bacus of Ingram; two sons and daughters-in-law, James Jr. and Norma Jung of Harper and Charles and JoAnn Jung of College Station; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by all of his 10 brothers and sisters, August, Felix, Robert and Edwin Jung, Olivia Fritz, Emma Grona, Katy Boos, Annie Metzger, Clara Yancey and Tillie Luedicke.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Tatsch, Gene Tatsch, Cecil Tatsch, Emil James Tatsch, Andrew Tatsch and David Tatsch.
Honorary pallbearers are members of St. Anthony's Mens Society and St. Anthony's Choir.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church or the Harper EMS.
Grimes Funeral Chapel in Kerrville is in charge of arrangements.
