Gravestone is in abt. the first row to the left as you enter the cemetery from rte. 26 - stone is small and almost impossible to read. There are four small white stones in a row: Mary (Kent) WHITE (stone down, can't read in 1996), James WHITE, Amos G. MARTIN & Mary Ann (White) MARTIN are all in this row.

Mary "Polly" KENT was the dau. of Thomas KENT & Ann RALSTON of Western, PA. She m. abt 22 May 1802 to James WHITE (son of Jesse & Mary WHITE). This couple had at least 9 known children: Rachel, Thomas, David, Uriah, Jesse, John, James, William & Mary Ann WHITE (the later who m. Amos G. MARTIN, this is well documented).

NOTE: he had no dau. Mary Polly White who m. a Tiffany - wrong family.

"On 22 May 1802 James White was dismissed for having married out of unity (someone not of that faith); he had married Mary Kent, daughter of Thomas Kent. This James was a son of Jesse and Mary White."
