Inscription: "THOMAS KENT / Revolutionary Army / March 1, 1748 - Jan. 8, 1835 / Member Flying Camp Co. of Maryland"
Thomas KENT was born in Co. Derry, Ireland. He served in the Revolutionary War joining in July 1776 near Harve de Grace, MD (Pension Application). He m. Ann RALSTON on 1 Nov 1778 in Cecil Co., MD (CECIL CO, MD MARR. LICENSES, 1777-1840) and they settled near Waynesburg, Greene Co, PA. He and his wife were originally buried in the Old Hookstown Cemetery.

NOTE: There is a photo floating out there claiming to be this Thomas Kent. It is NOT. This Thomas Kent died in 1835. The first photographs were not invented until 1839. The photo has been identified as someone else, but once it starts floating around it is tough to stop it. See photos from the Greene County Collection online to see the real name of that photo. ~~~~~
(A picture of one Robert Adams, Sr. 1769-1864, that it has been wrongfully identified as Thomas Kent on many genealogy sites. They go on to explain why it is impossible for the picture to be Thomas Kent. I bookmarked the page and kept the address, but when I try to reach that address, I can't. I can reach it from my bookmarks. And more: from Bryan Castleman Nice work. I found the conversation you spoke of at Green Connections.)
