Lucretia E. Gossett
Lucretia E. Gossett, 74, a resident of the Westbrook Manor, formerly of Rt. 2, Oswego, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 1989, at the Labette County Medical Center, where she was admitted after suffering an apparent heart attack.
She was born Nov. 21, 1914, at Claremore, Okla., to John and Frances (Berry) Zinn. She grew up and attended school at Sheldon, Mo.
She was married to Forrest James Gossett on Feb. 28, 1934, at Lamar, Mo. They lived in Lamar, Mo., until moving to Colorado in 1940. In 1950, they moved to rural Labette City and in 1971, they moved to the Oswego area. He died Aug. 14, 1981.
Survivors include: two sons, Jim of Udall and Douglas of Wichita; four daughters, Dorothy Kimmons of Coffeyville, Nancy Opitz and Carolyn Wilson, both of Parsons, and Frances Cox of Fort Gibson, Okla.; six sisters, Edith Flutz [sic], Leona Fassler and Mae [sic] Wade, all of Fort Scott, Dollie Turner of Bonner Springs, Darlene [sic] Reardon of Overland Park and Eva Dee Lewis of Parsons; a brother Loyd Zinn of Parsons; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, a son and four brothers preceded her in death.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Murdock Funeral Home of Oswego with the Rev. Albert Kidwell officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, south of Parsons.
The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
