Born on November 27, 1928 in Roundup, Montana, she was the daughter of Orley and Hazel Kirby Purdum. She married Ralph Stogdill in 1945 in Kahoka, Missouri; they later divorced.
Mary was a homemaker and loved her precious grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, reading her Bible, solving crossword puzzles & word games, macramé, crafts, baking pies and gardening. She was very proficient at Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. At the end of the day, she enjoyed treating herself with a bowl of ice cream. She was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by one son, two daughters, nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Kelly; and one grandson, Sean Allen.
