Donna G. Kinol, 66, Route 36 in Brookville, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

Born Feb. 23, 1949, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Alberta R. (McCool) Best. Donna married Dennis A. Kinol on June 28, 1975, in Sigel. He survives.

She worked in math education at both the elementary and college levels.

She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Zion United Methodist Church, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics (PCTM) and a former member and officer of Brookville Area Band Boosters. She was involved in Girl Scouts and active in church affairs including sitting as the church pianist.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann "Liz" (Jason) Valasek, of Cranberry Township; her sister, Deanna R. (Carl W.) Mohney, of Sigel; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday June 5, 2015, at McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday June 6, 2015, at Zion United Methodist Church, 1778 PA-36, Brookville PA, 15825, with the Rev. Dale Livermore and the Rev. Gary Sheesley officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Eldred Twp., Jefferson County.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Hahne Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois PA, 15801, or the Penn Highlands Home Health (Hospice), P.O. Box 447, DuBois PA, 15801, or Relay For Life , c/o Joan Swigart, 115 Jefferson Cemetery Road., Summerville, PA, 15864.
